In our mythos

Ishara was a consort of Dagon and considered the personification of the oath. She is considered a goddess of love and medicine, and her name means "treaty, binding promise". At some point she bound herself to Dagon - Father of the Deep, and was his primary consort, his Queen, presiding over the Deep Ones, an amphibious humanoid race indigenous to Earth's oceans.

With her influence, the Deep Ones were easily able to expand their breeding into various small coastal and island communities, her powers allowing them to secure to commitment of the people to continued participation. She was worshipped alongside Dagon by some in the Esoteric Order of Dagon, a secret cult based in Innsmouth.

Her followers would wear a scorpion to represent her.

Size

Her size, both in our mythos and in historical myth is indeterminate. As her appearance varied widely, and over time changed form, she could be considered to range from average human size to colossal.

Inspiration

Ishara ('išḫara') is an ancient deity of unknown origin from the north of modern Syria. She first appeared in Ebla and was incorporated into the Hurrian pantheon, from which she found her way to the Hittite pantheon. She appears in documents and personal names from Mesopotamia starting with the end of the 3rd millennium BCE, and had temples in Nippur, Sippar, Kish, Harbidum, Larsa, and Urum.
